Fort Hood: American Patriots Must Seek the Truth

by John Hart

Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, an Army psychiatrist is allegedly the lone gunman who killed 12 people and injured 31 on November 5 at Ft. Hood appears, based on current media reports. A report was corrected six hours later that had previously stated he had been shot dead. On November 9, he is now reported to be conscious and talking.

The President made a briefing stating that this was a “crime against our Nation“. Then he stated, “don’t jump to any conclusions”. The corporate networks then took over the story. The initial reporting was based on eyewitness accounts. There were three suspected shooters, one shot dead and the other two in custody. News media were right on scene filming the EMT’s removal of shooting victims. The situation was apparentedly under control as they announced the two suspects in custody were questioned and released. Yet the whole base of approximately 50,000, including 9 schools and many civilians was locked down a total of 7 1/2 hours. Even schools in Temple, about 30 miles away were on “soft” lockdown for many hours. Within a few hours salacious details were reported of Hasan’s character and religious fanaticism. Often each was more salacious than the previous. Soldiers who witnessed the shooting rampage at Fort Hood that left 13 people dead reported that the gunman shouted “Allahu Akbar!” — an Arabic phrase for “God is great!” — before opening fire, the base commander said Friday. The most extreme characterization had to be FoxNews reporting that Federal law enforcement officials say the suspected Fort Hood, Texas, shooter had come to their attention at least six months ago because of Internet postings that discussed suicide bombings and other threats. In a telegraph article, Col Lee alleged that other officers had told him that Maj Hasan had said “maybe people should strap bombs on themselves and go to Time Square’ in New York.” Yet according to a local report from WFAA Dallas, “Investigators had not determined for certain whether Hasan was the author of the posting, and a formal investigation had not been opened before the shooting, said law enforcement officials who spoke on condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to discuss the case.” (Why not investigated?) The official story became a single shooter who is alive and on a ventilator at the hospital.

Hasan was listed as a participant in a Homeland Security Policy Institute’s presidential transition task force last year. It was a project of the Homeland Security Policy Institute, an independent thinktank housed at George Washington University, aimed at drafting policy recommendations for the incoming Obama administration. According to the task force’s May 2009 report [pdf], a “Nidal Hasan” from the Uniformed Services University School of Medicine was a task force event participant. Daniel Kaniewski, the institute’s deputy director, confirms that Hasan attended task force meetings as an audience member, and stresses that he was not a member of the task force. “All of our events are open to the public,” Kaniewski says, “and when someone RSVPs we put their name in the [report] so everyone knows who was in the room.” He says institute staffers recall Hasan attending at least one task force event, and that he RSVP’d for several. “We do recall him speaking at one of our events as an audience member,” he says, “but none of us recall what he actually said. Since he was reported under surveillance for at least six months, this timeline takes us back to May (or earlier) when he attended these events.

In a rush to judgment about a motive, it is officially stated that Hasan spoke openly of his deep opposition to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Yet a military official, who did not have authorization to discuss the matter publicly and spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity said Hasan had indicated he didn’t want to go to Iraq but was willing to serve in Afghanistan. Braverman said at a news conference early Friday that Hasan was on deployment orders to Afghanistan. A military official later told The Associated Press that Hasan was to be deployed to Iraq. It was not immediately possible to verify the discrepancy. He was often ridiculed by fellow soldiers of his Muslim faith.

In a brazen effort to rekindle the global war on terror and demonize Muslims, the media is now attempting to link the accused Fort Hood shooter’s spiritual advisor, Anwar al-Awlaki to al-Qaeda. According to the Sunday Telegraph, Nidal Malik Hasan worshiped at a mosque led by Anwar al-Awlaki along with three of the supposed September 11, 2001, hijackers. Hasan attended the Dar al-Hijrah mosque in Great Falls, Virginia, in 2001 at the same time as Khalid al-Mihdhar and Nawaf al-Hazmi. Also, an ABCNews report claims officials KNEW he had attempted to make contact with Al-Quaeda! But according to a previous AP report, Cone said Hasan was not known to be a threat or risk. But who exactly is Al-Quaeda? The answer may surprise you.

There are also statements not covered by television media. According to a CNN report, a surviving Fort Hood shooting suspect was arrested at golf course an officer states. A senior officer who was playing golf Thursday near Fort Hood, Texas, told CNN he witnessed the arrest of one of the two surviving suspects of the shooting at the Army installation. Shortly after the shooting, the officer said, military police told him to clear the course and he saw other MPs surround the building that held the golf carts, he said. The senior officer said he ducked into a nearby house for cover as 30 to 40 cars carrying MPs approached. He said he saw a soldier in battle-dress uniform, his hands in the air. The MPs ordered him to lie on the ground and open his uniform, presumably to ensure he was not carrying explosives, the senior officer said. He said an MP told him that authorities considered the man to be a suspect in the shootings after having overheard the man say he was with the shooter. The man was surrounded for 25 to 30 minutes, until a convoy of vehicles arrived, led by a Ford Crown Victoria and carrying men in suits, and he was taken away, the senior officer said. The story is reminiscent of a similar incident where an unmarked sedan pulls up and apparent military in fatigues kidnaps a protester.

Now that it has been reported that both suspects were released, some common-sense questions need to be answered. For instance, why was an innocent person admittedly with Hasan during the shootings be at a golf course and require to be found and captured?

An interview by the Washington Post with Hasan’s aunt is very interesting. Hasan’s aunt stated he was easy-going. “He was like my sons,” Noel Hasan said, “spending holidays and free time at her house”. She was unaware of her nephew’s pending deployment. “He didn’t call or send an e-mail saying anything like that,” she said.

SFC Donald Buswell, who spent ten years at Fort Hood, comments on Ft. Hood events 09 Nov 2009. “I spent 10 years at Ft Hood. There is no way this ‘official’ story is legitimate. No way would a room full of Combat vets allow this one shooter to get off over 100 rounds! And, it is not normal for the outside security guards to be there. They are at the MP station, and at the main gates. This means the room full of soldiers processing must have been pinned down; multiple shooters is the only plausible scenario. This sounds like MAJ Hasan has been used, and perhaps is a patsy.”

[in my due diligence, I found that Sgt Buswell is a long-time outspoken advocate of a new investigation into the events of 911 and against the Iraq war. Upon returning to his office the next day, Buswell discovered the locks had been changed, his security clearance was revoked, and an investigation had been launched. Buswell’s commanding officer, Colonel Luke Green, drafted a letter assigning Major Edwin Escobar to the investigation. According to sources, Colonel Green has asserted that SFC Buswell failed to obey Army regulations when he used his government issued email account to send what have been termed as messages disloyal to the United States with the intent of stirring up disloyalty, in a manner that brings discredit upon the United States Army.]

Take his statement and his Army issues and make your own determination. His sentiment does echo a sinking feeling by patriotic Americans who are trying to make common-sense assessment of what happened.

In this writers opinion, many political groups seek to fearmonger to suit their purpose. A few of the articles published include GOP Recruit says Enemies Infiltrating Our Military and a WND article: Military Jihadists Fill Every Branch. Also, ABCNews is now reporting what was first stated by military officials on the day of the shooting – – Cop Killer Gun Used in Ft Hood Shootings. There have also been fearmongering of an upcoming Holy War based on a widely reported Imam’s personal website. A story Radical Imam Praises Ft Hood Shooter, Urges Muslims to ‘Follow in Footsteps’

Why is it crucial to differentiate between terrorism and a violent act within the Army? First, GOP leadership has used the fear of terrorism since shortly after 911 to keep the public scared and submissive. Second, the current administration has many draconian laws to be passed. There are estimated to be twelve anti-second amendment pieces of legislation to be passed including Eric Holder’s ‘no fly, no buy’ bill that may include in its very broad scope regular American dissenters, gun-owners, liberty-loving Americans. Also, in this writer’s opinion there is an agenda for a new very broadly scoped Patriot-Act II domestic terrorism bill to be drafted. Lastly, if the hyperbole keeps building, there is a chance for uprisings, religious-based violence and martial law.

If the blogosphere is any true gauge of the American public, they have overwhelmingly accepted as fact that this was a terrorist act. They foolishly do not understand the implication of such an assumption. As with most every opinion stated, those in the blogosphere do so out of a blind partisan loyalty. How sad is it that both sides protect their party, but come to the same conclusion! It is absolutely vital Patriotic Americans stand up and demand answers. The media’s rush to judgment must not be accepted as absolute fact. There is a huge conflict of interest in both the media as well as the investigation that has already produced so many contradictory statements as fact.
